MV6 going for scrap

A friend of mine has an Ex plod MV6 on an 03 plate and the head gasket has gone. The car has been to the moon and back. Although he did renew anything that played up.
He has been offered £200 for it by the local scrap yard . Do you guys think I should buy it off him and do the head gasket or buy it and strip it for parts? :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

ex-plod is going to have no toys worth selling, interior will be poor as well. Engine is about the only valuable bit, and thats toast. Only other thing worth selling is LSD if it has one

If i knew how to do a HG I would get it sorted then use it myself

Got to be worth doing if he only wants 200 for it surely.......?

Not really...

Interior? - Worthless, have trouble giving it away for free
Dash, TID - Worthless
No radio
Climate Panel on facelifts is also worthless, they all have them, and bullet proof reliability.
body panels will have holes in them and poor shape, unless someone wants to spray no one will want white.

Alloys maybe worth a little bit if in good nick and CDX, CD/GLS alloys worthless

Its got no sensors, no loom worth taking

HID's worth £50, LSD is worth the most. Rear lights get couple of quid.

Your going to struggle to make a profit

3.2 with the special police low-ratio diff are a riot, thats for sure! Just don't expect it to be a good earner for breaking  :)

either way,arrolman is after a tid from an ex plod and has being looking for a while,may be after you took the bits you want,you could possibly pm him,im sure he would be vert gratfull.ps if it an 3.2 and you,re going fix headgasket pm me,and i will point you in the right direction for the parts :y
