my Omega finally died - choice of replacement? Saab 9-5 2.3t estate...reasons?
1. same reason I bought the Omega, they depreciate like crazy..a 56 plate with 32k on the clock £8600, and that was from a Saab dealer - list price new was a shade under 32k!!
2. It's another big estate with reasonable performance

Verdict after a couple of months...interior is better put together than the Omega, handling is much better despite front wheel drive (it's the Vector Sport model with the "sports chassis"), acceleration - worse than the 2.5 V6 Omega at low revs but better at high revs...guess that's the turbo. It's a bit thirstier on the short runs but then it's an auto and my Omega was manual.
If you were after a real Omega beater then the HOT Aero would do the job, I didn't fancy the insurance or fuel bills and I wasn't convinced that the fwd would cope with all the horsepower.

and as a final bonus they too have a good online owners forum!

Incidentally.............
Had the new Insipia INSIGNIA estate for a day, definately not impressed, if there was a brand new Omega estate with the same TD engine available, (even with all the Omega known faults--)-I'd buy one in preference to it.
