..... Not wanting the fuel costs of a V6 (I know this is arguable) and  ......

I've just returned from France with our Lunar Delta 520/2 caravan on the back of my 3.0 V6
In total I did 1550 miles and used 81.2 gallons         

I make that 18mpg!

Trip computers says 19.1 mpg so I must've got the total milage wrong  Still not bad though considering

I clocked about 22MPG with the 2.2 towing Swift Corniche 19/4. Quite impressive when considering I was holding up HGVs in the crawler lane. 

I suppose I should have got a 3.2 to be fair but once I'd spent so much time & money on the 2.2 it was too late.

Most was with the caravan, I'd say possibly a couple of hundred solo.

thats not too bad,mines 17mpg towing the van
