thinking of buying a 2.6 elite 2001 model can anyone give me any tips on the 2.6 any concerns any help would be great

2001 burns oil unless valve stem seals replaced

which in your view would be the best choise can you tell me what a 3.2 elite is like do you have many problems with them ?

They seem to have escaped the dodgy batch of stem seals that the 2.6s were afflicted with. If looking to buy a 2.6 look carefully for signs of oil consumption.

Other than that, they're about the same. There's a checklist of things to be wary of in the FAQ section, I believe.

I could be wrong kevin,but i thought some of 3.2 engines had this problem aswell,i remember seeing a post on it some time back. :-/

I can't recall a 3.2 with this problem, but I, also, could be wrong.

Precats tend to fail early.  Solution is to move lamda sensors rather than replace cats
