Does anyone know if the Omega B chassis was used by Holden ?

I thought the Holden Chassis was significantly wider  :-/

Its the chassis design.....as with most chassis designs it has provision to support 'variants' e.g. longer chassis, wider chassis for estates, coupes, sports saloons etc.....but all still the V platform

Maybe not as easy as it sounds, as a V8 chassis could well be different in a few ways, such as tunnel size/shape to accommodate physically bigger gearbox/bellhousing or starter motor 9thinking a V8 being longer and engine could be positioned further back.
Centre bearing mount and gearbox rear mount could be be different.
Holes in bulkhead and chassis for wiring looms might differ - basically, a suck it ans see project?

As said previously, the platform doesn't mean all chassis built on it will be the same.

Its a tuff question to answer as we dont really know the donor.

We do know that a V8 fits in an Omega and given a V6 goes in and a straight 6 also fits your on the way.

I would expect the steering box would need changing for a rack to aid clearance but it is do able.

I find this an interesting thread however why not import one of these cars (in V8 form)?  Would it be all that different to an Omega?

I agree but not as different as a supercharged V8 Omega

I have a VT2 - I'll measue between the strut-tops.

I'm pretty convinced that the floorpan is the same, tho.
