Just typed a big reply then couldn't post as topic was moved!!
I did this on my Omega. Managed to get an extra pair of hands and some flat head screwdrivers and prized out the rear quarter light very very carefully without braking it. Unlocked door, climbed in the boot and got them out. then put window back in. Bob's your uncle!
Also did this on my old Mazda Familia. Got a bent kebab skewer and put it down between glass and door skin and pulled lock. It was alot of guess work at the time but it was better (and cheaper) than smashing window! Have you considered using a slate puller to pull the lock, or glass suction lifter to pull glass down and create a small gap to get some sort of tool in to open door. Not familiar with Fiestas but hope this helps!

Well the standard method for those is to pull the top corner of the door out and pass a strap (like the flat nylon you get around parcels) down and around the internal handle. A sharp pull then unlocks the door

In theory yes, but its not easier on 90's onwards cars as they fit bits of plastic to get in the way

Yeh, it normaly simply springs back, if it sits out a bit, wind the window down and bend it back.

You can actualy get a small inflatable cushion to do exactly this job which is what the likes of the RAC use
