Think cloth was a no cost option.

Just looking at an'Elite' for sale, but it had cloth seats, and I can't see an Elite badge, so I suspect it may not be.

As I understand it, leather was standard on a 3.0 and cloth/velour was a no cost option. Velour was standard on a 2.5 & leather a cost option.  :-/

The previous replies are not not entirely accurate.

Leather was standard on ALL Elites upto MY '97, with velour being a no cost option.

At MY'98 with the 2.5 being introduced, only the 3.0 remained with standard leather (with velour being NC option). The 2.5 & TD had standard velour and optional leather.

Its actually slightly more complex than that as (for some reason), the leather versions were listed as separate models in the price list. So, you would have a 2.5 V6 Elite and a 2.5 V6 Elite (leather) listed in the price list as separate models.

Hope that all makes sense, it is confusing but true.

Thanks for the information. Mine is 2.5td CDX with leather, which I guess was an extra. It was a Vauxhall management car when I bought it at 5000 miles.
