Insignia Question....
« on: 19 August 2010, 18:59:47 »

Anyone here have experience of Insignia (or whatever the plural is?

I'm just contemplating my next car (won't change until they get a bit older and cheaper) but was wondering how the fuel economy of the 2.8V6 and 2.0 Turbo would compare with my 3.2 Omega? Always hard to tell from those published figures....

... of course that's assuming I can bring myself to part from my trusty Omega (which has just delivered us to the south of France and back quickly and quietly) and its Bose stereo....  :y

Fuel economy on my old SAAB 93 2.8 V6 Turbo was 35 MPG on the motorway at 70-80 MPH if I drover like Miss Daisy. If I drove it how it was made to be driven I at one point was averaging 7.8 MPG, first night I got it, used quater of a tank of fuel racing it around the town, that was though full throttle from red lights etc and chasing a few ambulances. It had sipped all the way from Enfield to Ashford on the motorway  :y

At 145 MPH on the autobahns obviously I was getting 18 MPG though at one point  :) Fantastic engines and one of the best noises that can be heard from a car  :D
