I have just recieved the car now and my first impressions are, that it could be the clutch?

You can select all the gears but their is a thumping if you control with the clutch as if it's slipping??

Any ideas??

no experience in fixing them but do much prefer the f23 of the 2.0 140bhp and v6`s....

Assume it may be the same as the ar25 / 30 from the omega...in that they may be interchangabel... :-/

I think I have read on the web that people have fitted F23/25 in not sure though.  :-/

After having a quick drive i am not  100% sure it is the Box, I have a suspision it may be the clutch.

Thanks Karl

well the f17 and f18 are cack affaid, it is a x20xe and the  f23 will bolt straight on to it but make sure you change the hydrolic slave at the same time as this is a week point once it has been moved it starts to leak once back together(£125 main dealer) and then its strip down and start again  :'( also check for history on cambelt on it as they are prone to throwing them when near the limit 40'000 miles sorry the bearing tensioner is prone, but i got to say if its a tidy all together motor thats a bargain well done  :y

No history on it unfortunatley, but the cambelt will be changed as a matter  of course, as I have the locking tool for it.

cam belt is easy enough, did one a few weeks ago - do the water pump at the same time as its belt driven  :)

I have already begun do unearth bodge jobs on it.

1. The camshaft sensor has been frigged - requires new sensor and loom
2. The camshaft cover gaskets is leaking.
3. The HT leads are Knackered- 4 new ones needed.
4. The breather are blocked.
5. It's also burning oil - could be connected to the breathers (Hope so)
6. The radiator cover is broken.
7. Also requires a bl@@dy good full service

Apart from the gearbox/clutch the above are all relatively minor problems..

Glad I bought!!

I am not sure yet to be honest, I am going to sell my Vectra LS first and then see how much I like this one!!

I have just had a thought... There is a new looking tow bar on it... could they have knackered the clutch by towing, the bite is extremely high up!
