Forgive the thicko question, but what does the lovwer diver do or help achieve when changing the cams.

Try reducing the weight as well.

Carpets etc, only run on half a tank. As they say, every little helps.

And/Or put a 3 litre engine in.

The 2.5 lower divider has smaller ports where the 3l lower divider has larger and matched to the engines ports

Depends totally on how well the engine has been looked after

Not sure they are any different, besides enev if they were they wouldn't change alot as the rest of the intake will be smaller.  But the cams defo a slight performance mod  :y

My car is/was a 3.0 and, to be honest there not really 'fast' cars... don't get me wrong compared to the 2.0 diseasel Vectra I owned before the Omega, it was in a different league, but the Omega is more about comfort and high speed cruising. It's never going to do well 0-60.
When ever I used to pull away from the lights I always had a smile on my face, but it was more to do with the noise of the engine and the fact that such a big lump of metal could be made to propel it's self forward with such 'ferocity', it almost seemed comical to me... The auto box seemed to add to the whole experience, it was the constant-nes of it!!

something faster,easy and cheap ,  get a manual 3.0..

something more faster, drop a turbo c20 let.. (somebody did, there were  pictures in gallery)

something seriously fast , forget the budget (and v6)  drop a GM V8 (Ls1,ls2,Ls6 etc)..

not much chance with 2.5 v6 , it has cooling issues..

but if you insist for 2.5 v6, get ready to rob the bank ;D

ps: I have seen an interesting european example of V8 BMW engined miggy .. but chasis need to be modded extensively :-?

I know exactly what you mean here Brikhead! I love pulling away with such 'ferocity' yet the engine barely makes a noise! Also the constantness of the gearbox as you mention!
