Insurance.
« on: 29 September 2010, 09:55:56 »

Provisionally sold the MV6, but the guy is having trouble insuring it.
He's 26, 4 years NCD, lives in Scarborough, car parked on driveway, sometimes garaged.
Best he's got so far is £600 comprehensive, which is ridiculous considering he had a 2.6 Carlton last year, which cost £350 comp.

Any ideas?

I'm 26 and mine is £600 full comp with business travel, parked on drive but 0 ncb.

Not sure why it would be so much for him if he has got 4 years ncb. :-/

Depends where in Scarborough he lives, I imagine ;) Last time I was there (ok, quite a few years ago now) there were some less than desirable areas..

But yeah, doesn't sound that bad to me - mine is £750 at 32, mirrored NCB and no claims..

I've got a similiar problem with my elite they want over £600 this year, last year same car same details sub £400. I can insure for £135 less if I lived 15 miles up the road. :

Well, yes.. but that doesn't make it any less valid a point, does it?

Nothing against Scarborough, I quite like the place (although I prefer Brid - spent many a summer there in my youth as it wasn't a million miles from where I grew up).. but I'm sure different areas will make a difference to his insurance quotes.

I tried Admiral, and so far have been the cheapst, however I'm still shopping around to see if I can get a better deal ?  :-?
