I'm going for these from buypartsby:-

Part Number : RJ6211
 Cost : £38.82 + vat

 Coil Spring

 Model: OMEGA B 2.6
 Year range:  01/00-12/04
 Location: RR
 Extra info:  Saloon
 Heavy Duty
 Mini-Bloc type
 Petrol

I thought the heavy duty would be better for towing.

Anyone got any thoughts on them please?

They'll do nicely B :y

Big thanks to TB.

Rear springs replaced, spring assister's fitted.

Took a bit of persuading to get them seated, bit of modification to TB's home made spring compressors, but we got there in the end.

Cups of tea provided by Mrs TB, pie and chips from the local chippie.

The wrong springs had been fitted, hence why the photo's didn't look right.

Handling is now much improved.

You're welcome.

The springs weren't broken, they just weren't Omega ones. And very, very short ;D ;D

The replacements were heavy duties, along with the spring assisters, a bitch to fit.  I reckon it looked a shade high now, but would be interesting to see what its like with the pikey wagon hitched up :y

Forgot to mention, broke a socket, trying to undo the front wheel bolts, all nicely greased up and torqued properly now though.

can't see 1/2 inch making much differnce, bet the ride will be better with the van on the back, and may not even need the assisters.

Got the assisters fitted, driving back from Blackley, ride was much improved, even over the speed bumps ;D

No shortage of speed bumps around these parts.  Fortunately, we don't have any speed cameras within 5 miles, nor those other stupid traffic calming chicanes....
