oh yes- my omega has come from Switzerland which is outside the EU so i have to pay import duty on a 10 year old car because i haven't owned it for 1 year! not to mention CO2 emmissions tax, by the end this car will have cost me!

That isn't the half of the red tape. It is quite conceivable that someone hasn't been paying their French road fund tax or other bills for two years and the new owner will get lamped when they (sorry he- Wellung) tries to transfer to British plates.

Wellung, if you reallly crave peace and quiet and a get away from the madding crowds, you will not find a better place to go than senor Varches, its absolutley georgeus up there,  its idylic for long peaceful walks etc and the scenery is beautiful,
thoroughly recommended place to visit!!
