Spring question
« on: 25 October 2010, 13:00:05 »

Are MV6 springs different than say CDX springs. If so are they just slightly shorter, or are they stiffer aswell.

Many Thanks.

what year?

mini-facelift, all springs are same, just MV6 has lower and stiffer shocks.

facelift, springs and shocks are different.

As per usual I manage to miss out the important bit, sorry.

Mine is 2003 CDX and I am looking at springs from a 2001 MV6. However if the shocks are different aswell it may not be worth it.

Thanks

2001 would be facelift, the springs would be different, are they to replace a broken one on your CDX?

With suspension components, personally I would buy new, its £40 each for KYB  :y

Not sure KYB do springs for LSC. Pretty dear from GM.

Facelift MV6, I believe shocks and springs vary between LSC and non LSC varients.

They are not to replace a broken spring. In fact my car has 2 new Vauxhall springs fitted by a dealer about 2 months before I bought the car (pricey)

My car seems to suffer a lot of body roll on the twisties, much more than my old 96 CDX, in fact the new car seems to ride alot higher than the old one but I assume the springs had settled quite a bit as original 14 year old items.

Basically just looking to tighten it up a bit. Don't want go cart type handling as I love the soft squidgy suspension when in a straight line.

 :)

Sorry for my ignorance TB, but what is LSC ?

On yours....Yes, yes and...yes.

Kyb do not do lowered sports chassis. So it's gm on trade club, firmer less roll 15mill lower, but that's with front shocks as well but keeping the rear self levelling on my Elite... or aftermarket from another maker.

Not sure what results you'll get just fitting lsc springs alone... :-/
