advice needed

If you turn the ignition key on so the dash lights up but engine is not running, should the EML light go out after a few secs. If it does not is there a fault stored, the light goes out when engine is started

     any ideas  :(

 hi  i have 2.0l 1999 estate and my eml light is on to but once started goes
 straight off

It should be on, the crank sensor will not be receving a correct signal (as crank is not rotating).  :)

Great on here init. Better than the Haynes manual, i wish they did an Haynes for the facelift.
