Well over the last two weeks I have had the nearside rear bottom door corner welded, fitted two front brake pads, with sensors, that I had spare, had fitted 4 x Pirelli PZero Rosso 235/45 ZR 17 for £400 all in, pushed the car through it's MOT with no problems, and,the big news, the n/s rear door repaired under insurance!
The latter of course caused me to flip when the first route I took to repair the door, after the OAP hit it in a Sainsbury's car park, through
Claimfast led to some prat of an insurance assessor classing it as "beyond economical repair"!! He quoted that it needed a new door, and even a new n/s overtaking mirror part which hadn't been damaged or involved in the accident, being completely intact!! Total cost they said was £1,700!!

My own insurance company Royal Sun Alliance then took over the claim and promised it would be repaired by a
Nationwide Crash Repair Centre. Today got the car back after some excellent customer care, with the total repair bill, being sent to the third party, standing at £492.17!! No new door or overtaking mirror (as of course not required!!), an excellent finish, and completed on time!!
I am now mounting a complaint through the AA, which they have encouraged me to do, about
Claimfast. "beyond economical repair" indeed!!! As I told them on the phone; total nonense and somebody must be on a fiddle somewhere!!
