I love senators  :D

As I've never hit a limiter, what happens I take it, it just stops, anyway around these?

I might be and probably will be wrong, but does it cut the fuel/ignition or something until speed drops?

If that's the case what is the theoretical top speed of a 3.0 MV6 manual? I have a contintental trip planned for next year to do some Autobahn-storming!

164 mph in a Senny 3 litre 24 valve, and a calibrated speedo.  Back in the early 90's before it was realised that speed on its own, killed children....   :-X

On duty?.......
Training....   ;D

H98LFS, for the pedants amongst us....   ;D

:o  On blues and two's..... :question

Plain white, no lights or sirens, just a wee yellow plate on the rear saying 'driver under training'.

 :)

How does that work? I have seen such things near Thirsk where there is a training school for Police drivers, but then every now and then you hear of Police Officers being done for speeding, even in marked cars..... :-? :-? :-?

I worked for a while in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, and the Police trained drivers in a white escort with a mag mount blue light, were always passing the office...either you can speed or you can't....if we take away genuine emergency work.... :-? :-?

As said, it was in the very early 1990's.  What was deemed the norm then may or may not be the same now.

It certainly used to be the case that the cars used by the Scottish Polce College had their VRM's entered on PNC as blocked, thus causing the force concerned with a speeding issue to enquire further and reveal the true parentage.

If a Bona Fide training course, within the 8 Scottish forces, then no prosecution ensued.

If spotted at excess speed across the border, in similar circumstances, a nicking was in the offing.

As said, was previous to Elf and Softy and the overwhelming, overpowering, ethos that speed on its own, kills, without reference to specific circumstances.

Said enough on the matter, now regretting opening the can of worms.

Schtuum....   :-X   ;D

Partially, yes.  It was whilst attending advanced driver training at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan.

I have no problem, just curious, but then again I am in England...obviously different force to force, and the odd occasion that I have heard of a PC being done for speeding in a traffic car may be internal politics....All in North Yorkshire, training cars as well.....
 :)

Now as to my Police escort on Friday we did not get above about 30mph....... ::) ::) ::)

Now awaiting the overwhelming chorus of those chanting 'one rule for them, another for us'....

Different story if it was something precious to you that was being driven off at serious speed, back in the day, before ANPR, helicalchoppers etc etc.

As said, the norm back then, almost 20 years ago, and different today, so caw canny with the crits, please.....   ;)
