Kia Sedona
« on: 05 December 2010, 11:11:29 »

Has anybody here had an experience of the gearbox linkage of a 2000 kia sedona.  We have just got one and when trying to select a gear with the stick, its just like stiring a bowl of soup!!!!  Could this just be a case that the bushes are worn?  But I have seen that they could be on a cable?  Any suggestions welcome! :) :)

That reply certainly made me chuckle!!! :) :)
I see that not many people have any dealings with Kia Cars!!!  Either that or they're not owning up to it!!!!

have you found any kind of manual for yours? I ask cos my Dad recently made a rash purchase of a Sedona and it has a few niggles that need sorting.

Are they date sensitive?  They may work if you cut your pc off from the web and then set the clock to something like February 2003 then shove the CD in the tray.

BTW, if it's the smaller V6 then change the oil and keep the change intervals down to no more than 10k.  The KV6 is a good engine but it really doesn't like oil that is past its best when the mileage starts to creep up.

Having once owned one of these, I can confirm that they are a cable change ane are renowned for the sloppy shift, but can't tell tou how to adjust it. just glad its gone now it rusted before your eyes, and all parts were an arm and a leg.
(I will now go and hide after this admission)

I believe the cambelt change on the diesel is a suicide inducing job that requires the engine out!

Can't you try nipping up the cables a touch and see what happens, makes it worse, put it back the way it was!
