The Merc is going to be very comfy in the back, but you'd expect that from the world's biggest taxi manufacturer.

I'd have the the Rolls any day.  Just got that slight hint of naughty charm, and I wouldn't have people trying to flag me down every time I drove it.

The merc is a little harsh in the eyes tbh.... the cornish would be my choice because I am an old fart at heart and it's the one place I would look good away from the boat smoking my pipe 

I was thinking of my aristocratic connections, but, on reflection, "Old Fart" sums it up nicely

Ah, but The Royal Family didn't have Rolls-Royces as they thought models like the Silver Ghost were brash and for the nouveau-riche.  They had Daimlers instead, much more respectable y'know.

There is a twist in this little tale. the Queen Mother after the Second World War developed a preference for the big Jaguar saloons.  Now, if Rolls-Royce were a bit brash then Jaguar were positively raffish and the choice of cads and lovable rogues at that time - which they still are in many people's eyes.
