Vauxhall's semi-auto
« on: 28 January 2011, 23:25:55 »

Is there an inherent problem with Vx's easytronic semi-auto? I've heard a few negative comments re them fitted to Corsas, but I've just heard that a mate, who has a semi-auto Vectra, has had his 'new' car off the road for the last fortnight while Vx have been deciding who should foot the bill for repair. Trouble is, he's not earned while the car's off the road cos he's a taxi driver.  :-? :-?

He should get a similar car, as a courtesy car, from the garage..... :)

You can always find loads of Corsa 'easytronic' autos on ebay listed for spares/repairs. Again, at auction there's plenty about. The 3.0 V6 CDTI with the autobox also doesn't seem to last that long either.

Vectra Autos are quite unreliable to be honest.

Apparently Vauxhall has been argueing the toss as to who's going to pay for the repair, them or the warrenty firm. Vauxhall's doing now though.

Can you put taxi plates on a courtesy car?  :-/

I posted that too, but was corrected by 'The Great One' I believe early generations were kak, but later ones were fixed. Cooling was an issue i think, nothing lasts as well as good old AR25/35  8-)
