How high is a cows belly from the ground?
How low is the bonnet of a Mig when under heavy braking?
How robust is a cows leg(s) in comparison to its body?
Sadly, I have investigated far to many crashes over the years involving cars and animals (and I include humans under the animals header) so that the front of the car, whilst appearing undamaged, will show marks and scratches where it impacted the cows leg(s). Such is the cars speed that the bulk of the animal has no chance of dropping floorwards before the screen/A pillar and roof come into play.
Its is a very common error to say that someone was 'run over'. In truth, in the vast majority of instances, they are run under - unless already lying on the ground.....

I have seen instances where the rear end of a cow/bullock has been forced through the screen/roof and into the back seat with minimal markings to the front of the car.
A couple of tonne of heifer versus people sat in cars and speed? No contest...
