SOMEONE BROKE INTO MY CAR
« on: 07 July 2007, 05:58:29 »

 >:( Yesterday morning got up at 6 a.m. kitchen making a brew looked out at meega to find the passnger front window smashed >:(, they did'nt go in the car just opened the glove box nothing in there and they obviously breaked off then >:( did'nt hear the alarm go off :-/ took is over and hour yesterday morning to clean up all the glass which was everywhere rather f*ckers >:(. So totally screwed my plans up for yesterday tok the car down national windscreens, will pick it up this morning pay the £50 quid excess, and then maybe go up to Billing.

Called/reoprted it to the police of course, they want me to take the car down to take fingerprints on Monday :-/, and i also have the offending object used to smash the window 8-). Fortunately they did'nt open the boot or check the drivers side as if they had they would have came up trumps :y. Lucky for me ;)...Thats the second time in 7 years that has happened here they done my previous car 7 years ago done the locks in, took the fag butts out the ashtray and a set of master keys (council access keys).

Anyway hope you al have a better weekend than me :y

Bad luck Mike, but DO look on the bright side. Think about what damage these mindless little b@stards can do if they put their mind to it. They can cause your car to be an insurance write-off.
Enjoy the weekend, dont let them win :y

Soz to hear this Mike.....same thing happened to my Omega  :( Coz i didnt take the sat nav out one night......they missed my change dispenser (id left that in there too  ::) )....which had more dosh in it than they would have got for the sat nav!

I took mine to RAC windscreens.......who vac'd out all the broken glass for me and fitted a temp perspex window for a few days until they got a new window in for it.

Tho still a pain and wasted a fair bit of time  >:(

Oh and ive still got a broken ashtray....where they ripped the charger out of it  :(

Sorry to here what happened, don`t let it spoil your weekend to much.
i know how you feel

Same thing happened to me a while back, went home to Essex after my mum died, left a plastic bag on the passenger seat with socks and undies, and unfortunatly my Passport.
10 minutes later it was all gone glass all over the place. Police came down, all the usual stuff had a new side window fitted the same day (Thanks car glass quick work)  had to drive all through Europe without ID that was nerve wrecking thank god the borders are open, a week after i got back recieved a letter from the local police that they had stopped their investigations due to lack of evidence.
Its the same all over the country stinking little F@ckers.

Sorry to hear this Mike, I guess I've been lucky with the 'meega though the wife's Previa which is normally parked next to it in the street had been broken into three times in the past 3 years - twice by smashing a side window and once by forcing the door lock. needless to say there was nothing of value to be taken anyway. Life in London... On a more upbeat note, once you clean up the inside of the car and get the window replaced you'll forget all about it...

Might be better leaving the glove box open Dan, if they can see there's nowt in it they won't break the window to see if there is.

Crap news Mike, little b@stards.

cheers for that.. having thought it over i come to the conclusion that regardless of my glove box being open, closed, full or empty, thieves will still smash a window and have a rumage through just incase they feel they're missing something, at the end of the day they're often relentless, they know people hide stuff away and out of view, and they know more and more cubby holes exist in cars these days
