Omega boardcomputer installation
« on: 22 February 2011, 18:06:08 »

Hi all,

I hope I'm at the right forum  8-)

I have a 1996 Omega 2.5td (X25DT i think is the code)
Is it possible to install a boardcomputer in this car since it doesn't have it?
also, is it possible to install a cruise control?

thank you for your answers :)

I think you'll find that the work involved fitting all the sensors for the various functions of the computer isn't worth the effort.
Cruise just involves fitting a DIESEL cruise control stalk, they're different from petrol cars. It may need programming but I don't think they generally need it and are already enabled.

I already have outside temperature sensor.
is it anyhow possible to see if I have any of the sensors boardcomputer needs?
is there any difference from the cruise control stalks between english omegas and the rest of the europe?
I don't really expect to find it here in Croatia, is it possible to find it on ebay?

Lot of work, not worth the effort. And a 96 one takes the unreliable MIDs

Dead easy, add the 2 wire stalk (part number ends in 012), and it will work :)
