Other Car
« on: 01 April 2011, 14:16:46 »

Hi all

Thought I'd ask on here as I'll get goog advice as always. Due to a new job roughly 50 mile round trip everyday I'm looking at buying another car for work (keeping the Omega for fundays!!) but I dont know what to go for?

I have aroung 6-7k to spend and so far I've considered:

Saab 93/95 (Diesel)
Volvo S60 (Diesel)
Vectra (Diesel)

Any other suggestions. As I want something comfy!!!

TIA

My journey to work is around a 60m round trip. I prefer a 1998 LPG'd MV6 ::)

Because it is best part of an hour each way, I like the comfort of a big saloon.  Comes in well under budget as well :P

If I were picking from that list I'd probably go for the Volvo, although it's still FWD ::)

I'm with TB... I'd run a LPG Omega... Much more comfort and fun ::) ;D

I would probably go Saab 95 as they are a much more relaxing drive and better more ergonomic driving position than the others.

SAAB 93 or SAAB 95 are your best bets I'd say, or even the Volvo S60 is quite a competent cruiser  :y :y

dont go for the expense of multiple cars imo..  you have to deal with many tires, parts, washing, cleaning, tax, insurance.. lpg the miggy :y

plus : diesel parts are more expensive and requires extra knowledge..

Volvo S60 would be my choice - competent, underrated and handsome.

6-7k?

Sod that spend 700 quid DIY LPG the Omega, stick the 6k in savings, some of the interest would most likely pay for maintenance!

My commute before I moved to London was 150 miles per day! It was a breeze with cruise control, comfy seats, and LPG giving me effective cost of 60mpg  :D
