I was interested/surprise to see that the 3.2 on my drive is showing an average of 31.5 mpg. Ive never had that from any Omega ! must have been a motorway cruiser.

That's unreal average for a 3.2!  I average about 25mpg in my 3.2 auto estate, on mainly back roads and town. On a motorway run, I can get it to average around 32mpg, but thats being very sensible, and staying well away from the cruise control!  :-/

The only way to do that trip on Motorways is via the M25 from where you are! & that's a lot further than 60 miles

Thats low for a 2ltr and as for 2500 rpm how the hell do you get it to move if you don't go over it (thats coming from a fellow fourpot owner).

Think it needs a really good service or try driving with the handbrake and sports button off  ;D ;D ;D

From my 3.0 auto elite I get 35 with cruise control on at 80 on the motorway (very highly maintained though), currently on 18.5 around town. I've got a heavy right foot and love the low down grunt that propels you into small gaps at roundabouts!

Manual mv6 the same on the motorway (no cruise), 26 around town - I give it less stick as it hasn't got a proper gearbox!

I gettin about 26-27 ish out of my 2.6 miggy, on a daily 46 mile commute. Although it does need a good servicing. I keep putting it off but its gonna have to be done soon. Not much difference with or without cruise control either.
