possibly, a new condenser would be around £140, if I can do the swap myself or with assistance it would keep costs down.

Surely the condenser is not available at trade card prices, thought that was only for "service items"

They are not TC, but most dealers will give TC members normal trade price on non TC items...

....firm believer of that my self, well done and keep up the good work. The more we show, that older cars are not the rot boxes, most of the euro skid box drivers think they are, the better. :y

Just think how many of the new euro crap will be around in 12 years? Well they will but probably as drink cans... rant over. :-X

Dont get the condenser from Vx....

Get it online (check it well for damage) or go to Eurocar parts.....and get a filter dryer to.

Have checked the link on this site for www.coolaircon.co.uk  they have two listed 1 &  £109 + and 1 & £125+, (seem reasonably priced) both have the same description, but slightly different part numbers, not sure which I may need.

Have arranged for the system to be pressure tested (£40) to see if it is condenser that is shot

Doh!, I'm a plank, I know what the differance is now. Ones an OE unit the other is a "copy of the OE unit, thats why it's cheaper.  :-[
