In a word no.

Its structural and if you don't have the correct tools its not advisable. Is that £100 to supply and fit or just to fit?

Can't you just insure it fully comp and let the glass cover deal with it ?

There not hard to fit and you may well do a better job than most fitters! (from personal experience!)

Just be aware that there are a few tools and consumables needed

There will be a mobile independent fitter who will do it for half that.

Its a bit tricky but do-able. Something like this to cut one out

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Windscreen-Removal-Tool-Glass-Bonding-SCREEN-CUTTER-/370158338403?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item562f280163

and the glue and suction cups are on fleabay as well.

i was going to do mine, but a local mobile chap supplied and fitted one for about £100.

its one of those jobs that you have to bite the bullet and get a man in.
if it s the old type its simple[ish] but bonded its a no no really.

Best of luck with it. I did one a few years ago, on my last Mig. I got the screen from a scrap yard, cutting it out myself. I got it right...... after one or 2 little mistakes !. I left fitting to a mobile fitter, cause he only wanted about £25.
