Well, that was interesting!! Just visited mr. Crutch and spent nearly an hour arguing with them! Was even on their phone to head office.
Basically, they tried fobbing me off with 'us? Dodgy? Nooo..'
Then head office were like 'sorry sir you removing the part has invalidated your warrenty' I'm like 'NO my consumer rights bla bla bla unsatisfactory', not done properly, substandard parts etc, i explained about a trust issue that had developed, only at the time failed to point out how they kept fobbing me off and manipulating me to buy time, plus they knew about it before the warrenty and still didn't successfully put it right, kept fobbing me with 'needs to bed in' until when they finally did replace it, the warrenty period was nearly up anyway!! So by the time I have allowed sufficient 'bedding in time' it would of exceeded the warrenty period. I actually questioned this to them!
Ironically, the guy in the shop never mentioned the warrenty invalidation, just wriggled LOTS when I pointed out that I don't believe the slave was changed and that the pressure plate had been faced. Also ironically, They had an 'omega in this morning' so had a brand new clutch just sitting there!! Yes it was the same clutch, but there was ribbing around different lugs that on mine, weren't, further highlighting the fact it had been faced. He denied this. Third ironically, as I walked in, they were on the phone arranging a warrenty replacement on another job!!
Anyway I WILL be claiming back my refund, I just need to, at some point over the next few days, write a very official sounding long winded letter to head office, fully explaining my grounds and giving them one final opportunity to offer a full refund...
