I met a guy today with a beautiful 3.0 Elite in Red, 'S reg, with all the Irmscher goodies on it, he thinks he may have bought it from someone on the forum. He has had the LPG done for £1100 by a firm in Wales: http://www.professautogas.co.uk/?gclid=CMO52bi9lakCFQUe4QodrxZJdw and is very pleased with their work, and follow up inspections. They claim to suck out the swarf as the they drill the manifold (???) He reckons he has only lost about 20 miles for the same amount of fuel. He also mentioned insurance and registration. Are there any problems in this area with DIY fits?

Heard pretty good reports about their work but even the installer I visited today admitted that the manifold has to come off to convert a V6 Omega ;) ;)

Oh... And after a DIY installation a safety inspection and certification is all you need (like I had today ;))

I'd like see them drill an omega v6 manifold in situ. Not a hope. And don't entertain any ideas of fitting straws drilled into the plenum either.( It's a bodge IMO.) You want the lpg nozels right next to the petrol injectors.

Yep, discussed yours with him too. Although he's cheaper than TB's bloke I wouldn't rush over to him TBH... Another part of my day with Halfwits! ::)

Some manifolds are plastic, so I guess it started there. Depends on access and replacing seals etc.

Any quote i'd get eyes on the omega engine bay first.

But I'd expect somebody of your standing to diy surely....? It's not too demanding once it's clear where it all fits.

Not too bad... I did shove COP 11 under his nose at one point though ::) ::)

It has passed though and that's what matters. Price was as I said and discounted from the normal price. If you do decide to go to him he'll want the Tank Certificate (or full dimensions and serial number), serial numbers of the injector blocks, ECU (although not essential) and Vaporiser.
