Project Opinions Wanted Please.
« on: 09 June 2011, 00:02:33 »

In the future (Next Year Possibly) I was considering taking on another project!

I was thinking about creating a double cab pick up out of a face lift omega estate.

I have done a very bad edit of an estate I found on Ebay. Edited by me to look like a pick up lol.

Do you think it would look ok?

The wheels will be different and a bodykit would be added along with tinted rear lights etc... not necessarily silver.

Here is the picture:

I think the rear passengers would have their heads against the rear windscreen. Also you could achieve the same by taking the boot lid off a saloon.

But.... It's what you want to do that matters.  :y

Somewhere on here is a project where someone made a Pick up......... :y

Your project looks good but the pick up bed is to short for the cab, in my opinion.... :)

The design is supposed to include the rear seats with the headrests still fitted. And your wrong about the saloon though as I would use and modify the original bootlid from the estate and weld it to behind the rear seats and the tail lights need to be from the Estate due to the design. And I would add a Mondeo Estate MK2 Roof Spoiler to above the rear seats and keep the 3rd brake light in the rear window.

Will be an interesting project considering I would have to do it at the side of the road lol

This one?

Long thread - battle through to the end!

It was a two-seater, not double cab, and never finished AFAIK.

I know about the single cab, if he lived closer I would have found a way to buy it off him.

This is interesting, but roof spoiler would not work.

Would need to be either lowered for style or raised slightly for loading, you can buy raising pads for the rear springs, I use thin ones to counteract LPG tank weight

Careful, if opinions are not what he likes, he may not post on the thread  ::)

Have to agree though, its never going to look right. Part of the issue is the glass, there is no body panels to shape/cut down, its going to have to be "added".

Much better getting a Holden version:

The other thread went from opinions to ABUSE! I don't mind opinions but when people start ranting and raving and acting like OAP's and Children it gets rediculous especially when they start using personal insults.

I don't mind people saying they like the idea or don't like the idea but the other post post wasn't just opinions now, WAS IT!!!

And that thread was bullying too!  >:( ::)

I reported the people involved and it was dealt with, and I wont put up with it from anyone on any site or in person!

I have been nothing but nice to everyone and respectful.

Careful what you write! As  there is an opinion and there is abuse!

And I am druling over that Holden, Shame they are not readily available over here.

And I think I would have to look into it further about the actual design of a 4 door pick up.

I think that I could use the estate bootlid still the same as the single cab conversion.

Can anyone on here do a proper photo shop for me of my idea please?

Also I would still put a spoiler on the roof  :P Even if I end up doing the single cab conversion I will be fitting a spoiler as I am VERY VERY INTO MODIFIED CARS and Customizing vehicles as I like my motors to be individual to my tastes.  :P  ;) :)

I am off to eat my Curry and Watch a film and I am going to have a serious think about the design of the truck as I have decided I am going ahead and doing a conversion but not 100% if it will be on the Omega B or Omega C or as most of OOF prefer to call them Omega Pre-Facelift and Omega Facelft.

I am more keen on the Facelift conversion tho. And am not worried about it being road worthy at first as it will trailered to shows at first unless it is going to be easy to get it roadworthy straight away.

I want the truck to be Black, Blue or Silver.

Just realized, The Carllton Estate's bootlid is square enough for the conversion! Yay, 1 problem solved.

and relax :y
the omega on its own is a lovely car and in my oppinion this modding lark is daft,if your gonna turn your car into an omega skyline or omega gt type r then your on the wrong site.stripes and neons and flared arches/spoilers that put a whale breeching to shame belong to max power and the such and the one thing i dont understand about all this modding and k+n filters is(instead of trying to make a corsa into a sri and spending hundreds why dont kids just buy the sri to start with)this is just my view with no abusive context and yes tunnie your right if its that type of thing you want then buy the holden  :y
instead of making a modified copy of something along with the hassle of road legalities :)
