Bye Bye Old Girl
« on: 20 June 2011, 22:05:01 »

Well I finnally sent the old girl to the breaker to become a cube today and couldnt believe how they treated her. She was sat nicely on the truck minding her old business when a great big fork lift stuck its fork through thee drivers window and crushed her roof. They lifted her off and promply dropped her straight on hrt nose.

Almost brought a tear to my eye, well until they paid me lol

Couldnt believe what she weighed and I had already stripped her!

I must admit, I've never really been attached to a car (I rarely keep them longer than 18 months or so) but was rather sad to see my saloon drive off, even though I'm happy with it's replacement :y

I hate it .I had company cars for +25 years and even those saddened me when they went.
I guess I'll be buried or burned in the Manta after 35 years with me ..... :)

It was a sad day as she has been a good car, except for breaking down on the way on and off holiday last year!.......will miss her but have my newer 2.6 elite to comfort me now.

Just can believe that I've got more money back breaking her than I got offered for her whole. Plus I've loads more stuff to sell. It's going to pay towards getting the newbie sorted so quite happy!

I had the interesting experience recently of wanting a MFL cloth Elite interior. Couldn't find one so ..............

Bought a non-runner of ebay, towed it home, stripped it, sold loads of stuff and scrapped the shell. Ended up making a very decent profit and effectively got the interior for nothing!
