Daughter just arrived at the house and the drivers seat in her 307cc has become detatched at the front left corner.  Its as though a weld or fixing has come adrift.  Had a look but nothing too visable.  Done a google search and seems that the height adjuster mechanism breaking on one side is a common culprit.

Anyone any experience of this fault/repair?  Any method to avoid airbag warning lights appearing, other than not switching ignition on whilst unplugged?

I'd disconnect the battery too, although that's not fool proof either

Would disconnect batterry as a matter of course but was thinking along the line of power sounder disconnect times, TBH, to see if that had any bearing.   :-/

airbag system is only energized when ignition is switched on, so long as ignition is off and keys out it can be disconnected and reconnected without bringing up codes

I'd guess at within 15s of ignition off like the Omega :-/ :-/

I knew you'd disconnect the battery anyway but didn't hurt to mention it

Hopefully you won't have the issues I did with a Daewoo Matiz when working in the garage... Did it all by the book and the light still came on

Thought that would be the case.  Just looking for reassurance, as Les Francais can be a tad off piste, sometimes.

French electrics are very reliable so you should have no problems whatsoever.

Thought it was the Italians who got the crown for dodgy electrics?  Still remember my old 2.5 Alfa 75 with some affection.  Fast as you like, handled well (last RWD Alfa) but the fact that every positive had a negative return to a massive block either side of the slam panel made life 'interesting'....
