Some common sense items I E warning lamps are what they say warning so if there on its a fault,
A car thats maintained well should pass.at the end of the day i would rather mine fail an mot than something fail at 70mph on a motorway,

  :) :)

but an airbag light won't have any effect on whether your car is generally road worthy or not.   :-? Can't see a non functioning 13 pin trailer electrics socket making much difference either;)

Could easily cause a fair difference for the poor schmoe who runs into the pikey palace with non-functional brake lights/indicators/foglamp though ;)

'course to be truly effective there should be a requirement for annual MOTs for caravans & trailers (as I think there is on the continent?)..

Agreed. But it's the car being tested, not the caravan/trailer outfit.  ;)

I see that power steering fluid will now be checked ..........if the tester can see the level through the side of the bottle, many many cars don't have a see through bottle.Silly idea as any tester can see if pas fluid is pi$$ing out under the car already and fail it  :-/

Interesting bit about "stored hydraulic pressure braking systems" there.

Does anyone remember the Citreon BX, several of which rolled away as the suspension sat-down some time after parking?

They also scared the living daylights out of cats that had gone underneath for warmth,  But that's an RSPCA problem. ;D

Looks like you can still get away with a push bike bell strapped to the door mirror - MOT states "a means of warning other users/pedestrians". Still don't NEED a windscreen either :y

Sounds a bit of a waste of C4 to me. A game of "caravan conkers" does the job adequately. ;D
