Ref the backpressure increase, is that a problem?

I'd guess Vauxhall thought so.
If they could have gotten away with running just one pipe down the length of the car then they would have done so, two is twice the expense...

Pleased with mine. Opted for a "quiet" system and sounds nice on tick over but has a loverly, but not obtrusive, growl when i excersise my right foot  :y
Didn`t fancy wearing earplugs on long motorway journeys  ;)

Yet another twist. My local garage had the car today to see if the exhaust will fit......

Absolutely NO WAY  >:(

The exhuast was not meant for this car, well at least not the estate... To say I'm now completely p*ssed off, angry and fed up, I want to rip this guy's head off.

I now pray for his sake, I don't find out where he live's because if I do...it'll be a very bad day on his part  >:( >:(

Dont write it off yet. Most garages cant be arsed chopping up exhausts to fit a custom made job, with no gaurantee that it will fit.
If I were you I would remove the 2 middle sections and backbox in one piece, then drag them out from under the car and lay your new system on top of it and align the mounting points (hangers) on top of one another and ensure that the ends of the tailpipes are more or less in line(an inch or 2 either way wont matter) and at the same time ensure that the y piece aligns on a parallel section of the  2 middle sections and see how it looks.
If it looks ok then cut the 2 middle sections at the appropiate points and slap it back on the car using some exhaust jointing paste and a couple of new u bolts.
You have nothing to lose :y

Ahhh think ive got it, single pipe for most the run instead of 2  :y

See where you are coming from Jimbob. Before I fitted my Jetex stainless system I was quoted £380 for a Longlife system, only to have it amended to £580 when they realised it was a dual system so I'm guessing that some V6's went straight to single pipe after the Cats.  :-/
The straight exits into the Y piece as opposed to the curved would imply this system is like that.
Good luck with the fitting blackviper.  :y
Hmm, have just checked the photos I have of my Longlife system and it's dual pipes all the way back from the cats to the backbox.  This was all done for £350.10.  Price agreed in advance and on the day I asked for an exact replica of the existing system in terms of pipework.

On the plus side, I now have a confirmed name, home address AND landline number!!

Morning all,

I've rung Alex several times and spoken to his mum (who sounds nice enough), but Alex is always "busy".
He finally left me a message on here last night....

Hi dave. Sorry i missed your call before I was a bit busy. As you haven't left a telephone number I thought it would be easier to message you on here, as i will be out pretty much all day again tomorrow so will probably miss you if you phone.

The exhaust was off a saloon v6, I honestly thought you knew that already and assumed all the v6 exhaust where the same anyway.

Is there no way of making it fit? I hope some way of adapting it or something because I'm really sorry but I'm not in a position to give a full refund at the moment due to having a lot of unexpected outgoings last month after my dad passed away.

If there is defiantly no way of making it fit could you not sell it onto another member on here? As you should easy get what you payed or even a bit more for it.

Hope to hear from you soon so we can sort something out. If you give me your number I will give you a call as soon as I can if you want?

Thank you.

Alex

Needless to say I've left a polite message explaining that it will NOT fit and would like my money back, this time leaving my mobile for him to see if he does in fact, call me back!

Only time will tell  ::)

Yes, awkward one, and certainly doesnt seem too agreeable to a refund.

Without seeing the pre deal communication, we obviously cant judge if the car type was discussed etc.

Youve enough posts to sell, it may just be quickest and easiest to pop an advert in parts for sale and see if someone jumps on it.

even if it doesnt feel the 'morally correct' course of action.

Hi James,

Alex tells me it came off his mv6 saloon, something he failed to mention when he sold me the exhaust. Even though I made it clear from the start I needed one for my estate.
I don't know if it does fit a saloon or not though. If you look at the pictures at the start of this thread, you may well know or not.
If it fits yours and your wanting it, then it's yours. All I ask is the price I paid, nothing more. :y
