This car has some reasonable pictures of the interior inc door cards.

I had the same door cards in my previous Elite as in the link that Andy posted and I much preferred them to the one's in my facelift.  :y

Early version was more luxurious looking, or more old fashioned, like the inside of a 1970,s gentlemans club - depending on your viewpoint.
Later ones - more modern, minimalist, or bare/bland/ featureless, depending on your viewpoint.
Im now coming round to the facelift version - I think I prefer them now tbh.

I was never too happy with my pre-facelift doorcards, so I fitted Elite leather ones. When I changed the car for a facelift, I thought someone had put sacking on the doors, I managed to find some cream leather from an old Calibra, looks better, feels nicer, and is a wipe-clean finish.

The rubberised coating had started to wear, especially drivers side. The black is just black primer with lacquer on top. Wipe clean and looks better.

Are you able to remove the switch panels to repaint them, or do you have to do it in-situ? Also, how do you remove all of the rubber coating?

I took the doorcards off to fit the leather, so removed the door pulls to paint. The switches came out easily, as for the rubber coating, scouring pad worked a treat, left small scratches but this provided a key for the paint.
I suppose it would be possible to repaint in-situ, but realistically better to source a spare set, then paint at your leisure.

I have a spare set of door cards  :y

Just need to know how to remove the door pulls from the door cards. From what I can see, it looks they are held on with plastic rivets (once removed, no way of re-fixing them)???  :-/

12mm drill bit & remove the "splayed" end of rivet. To re-fit...6mm self-tappers with the fixed washer under screwhead :y
