That didnt take long....
« on: 11 July 2007, 19:32:23 »

For summat else to break on my 2.2  ::)

Until i figure out a plan B ive decided to keep the Omega as ive spent a few quid on it recently and have been using it as a taxi again for the last 3 weeks.

Ive decided to fix all the niggles on it......like coolant level sensor, the ashtray that doesnt smooth glide in and out, the radio aerial missing, the clunk of doom from the drivers door.

So far ive replaced the clunk of doom washer, got a replacement expansion bottle.....having probs on sourcing an ashtray and an aerial, tho havent tried that hard.

What does it decide to do this afternoon.....air con packs up  >:( Was working this morning.....came home lunchtime and it decided it didnt want to work this afternoon.

Compressor isnt engaging, neither does the fan run.

Got an aircon guy coming to have a look tomorrow......he's pretty good, ive used him before.....just hope he says it just needs regassing and there isnt a hole in the aircon rad.

It wasnt low pressure  :(

My mate eventually turned up this morning......stuck his pressure gauges on it....and no pressure at all  :(

Then he filled it up with nitrogen and started hunting for a leak.....he found it! It was on an aluminium pipe where an iron bracket clamps it......reckons that was an unusual place.....he suggested the alloy pipe had reacted with the iron bracket  :-/ I said oh only a pipe.....that wont be expensive then  :D
Ummmm no he said.....the pipe is welded to the condensor......so its new condensor time  :'(
