My Prodrive Spoiler is now fitted to the new boot!
« on: 13 August 2011, 13:40:31 »

I have started this topic to show off my skills or lack of  ;D ;D ;D ;D
And to say thank you to everyone who has helped me on this site get as far as I have.

I have today fitted the Prodrive spoiler I bought to my replacement bootlid. I used Sikaflex 255 as was recommended on here and have used masking tape to help keep it in place while the adhesive bonds like another member did and after making a mess of the adhesive on the bootlid have cleaned the escess off and am now waiting for it all to be dry and secure if I have done it right  ;D ;D ;D

I couldn't be bothered to re paint the spoiler or use filler on it. What I am going to do in the near future is use a touch up pen just to cover the scratch on the under side of the spoiler up a bit.

I have taken photo's but before my otherhalf went to work doing overtime and I got up my partner completely tidied up the house.

Boy am I in trouble when they get back  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I will add photo's and possibly a How To if there isn't one already. But the how to will have several names on it as I wouldn't have done without the help of the others on here. I will name names later but only popping on here briefly as I am soooooooo happy.

Catch you all later, and thanks again for your help.

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Pictures of my spoiler on the bootlid and me fitting it lol.

This is a picture of the spoiler resting on it to see what it would look like.

The rest are of it being fitted.

I will add a picture of it finished tomorrow  :)

So many pics of the same thing........!!!

to clear the mess up try T Cut scratch remover, it will dissolve that excess glue and tidy the whole "look" up

I started with t-cut and a lot of Elbow grease however that only removed some of it, in the end after trying lots of different chemicals in the house I pulled my credit card out of my wallet and gently scraped the rest off without damaging the paintwork. So, now that is sorted and I will add more pictures of the same thing  ;D later on, I would have done it now but camera battery went flat so it is on charge until tonight.

I won this spoiler on ebay, but I need to fix it first as it's quite scratched. I need some other work done on the bodywork so I think I will leave it to the pros ;P
Now that you've done it two years ago, is the spoiler still attached to the bootlid after using Sikaflex 255?

BTW never too many pictures!

Yes I recall I made several comments about looks taking priority over actually being visible at night  :o
