Flabbergasted
« on: 21 August 2011, 20:23:31 »

Thought I would share this one with you all.

I went to see my local VX dealer on Saturday in Stamford (Lincs) to enquire how much for them to supply and fit 2 new front suspension wishbone assemblies to my 2002 estate. Thought I have nothing to lose by asking, as I am not so inclined to grovel under the car these days, as always seem to suffer afterwards.

I was absolutely astonished at the price they came back with:

£228+VAT for each of the wishbones.
£224.25 for the fitting and alignment.
Total:  £771.45  (How Much?? I said picking myself up off the floor)

Have others here on OOF experienced similar extortion at VX main dealers?

Needless to say, I have not taken them up on their kind and generous offer, but may have to go back for the alignment after I fit some after market items myself.  I mean, who pays these sort of prices?  Talk about a rip off.

Don't bother taking it to them for alignment... Go to a WIM affiliated garage and have it done properly :y :y

Err eBay company, I can't remember who now  :-[

I know there have been a few posts about Wishbones & PolyBushes lately, sure someone can recommend something  :y

WIM cost was around £150 ish, they can do it soo much easier high on the ramps. So + wishbones looking at around £225/250 for them to do it  :)
