And the moral of the story is.........
« on: 03 September 2011, 22:01:31 »

I havn't been using my Mig much over the summer as I bought a cheap Pug 406 estate to run about in and use as a mobile skip while I've been working on a house.

Now the battery in the Mig has been abit suspect for a while now, but as long as used every day it's been OK. Not being used for a couple of weeks at a time though has caused it to give up the ghost completely.....  :(

So rather than spend £70 odd on a new one clever clogs here nips down the local scappy and gets a Varta 75 ah for £15....  :y All is well and good, the battery holds it's charge and all is well in Tiggerland....  :y :)

Until today...... I've sold the Pug (made a profit!  :y), so went to start the Mig for the first time in a couple of weeks and she's as dead as a Dodo...Bugger!!  >:(

I decided to put it on charge rather than jump start it and when I lifted the battery out there was loads of corrosion in and around the battery box.  :-? The damn battery had slight leak and acid had eaten away the edge of the battery box and there's also a new hole as well!  :o  There was also loads of that salty looking stuff over the air con pipes, but after a good pressure wash I think they're OK.. :-/

Looks like I'm off to buy a new battery......  :-[ :-[ :-[
