I don't prefer/like french car at all but tis one is classic. Coworker came with it today for a steamer ride, but we went on a ride with simca first. Nice, very nice to see old car in such a good shape g[/IMG]

I haven't seen this car before, so first time today. This one has second engine in it - first one went to the scrap due to not using the car it was unrepairable. Thanks

Nice looking car, don't see many Simca's around these days, all rusted away....I used to have a Matra Rancho, a car well ahead of it's time, and this was based on the later Simca 1501... :y :y

I had a Simca 1000 as a very young man, rear engine it was a very good car, the seaitng was very comfortable. I always wanted the 1301/1501 but could not aford one in those days, met my now wife when I had that car some 45 years ago. Thanks for the memory

Same here, had one of the last models, 1984 'A' reg, the one with the 7 seat conversion in the back. Cracking car, nice high driving position, and the split rear tailgate was a real boon when carrying longish items.... :y :y :y

Also had a simca estate just before the Rancho, so  know these cars well....

This is all a bit of a surprise; normally when Ranchos are mentioned the reply is "a what?"

My uncle had one when he couldn't afford a Range Rover, we had  several trips from Normandy to Paris in it. Proper French car, where comfort was the main requirement.

I nearly bought one last year; repainted and with a Zetec under the bonnet it looked like fun, and with the rattly old 1442 gone it should have driven quite well!

In the early 80s I lived in Weston-Super-Mare and worked at the first garage on the right as you came off of the M5 and head for the town, one of the women cashiers had a Simca 1501 Estate.

My Dad had a 1500 which looked the same. Really clattery engine but it went like stink.
