Thing is you dont need to stamp on the brake pedal because abs does it for you.
Hmmm, not really - the ABS is there to protect you if you have stamped on the brake Pedal

Omega is also progressive, mother T's spare car Nissan Almera, put a feather on the brake, it stops.

Omega needs fair bit effort on the pedal to stop it

Sorry, cannot agree. Omega might have more pedal travel, but doesn't require any more effort...

Drive mother T's Almera then  :y

You apply same pressure in that compared to Omega, vast difference in stopping ability. When i first drove it, it was like your use with gas pedal, it was either on or off  ;D

true
but you no longer need to stamp on the pedal as beyond a certain point the abs kicks in

ABS doesn't have any effect whatsoever on the amount of pedal pressure required to stop the car nor does it "kick in" at a certain pressure / position of the pedal.

It will only intervene if the pressure you are putting on the pedal is enough to lock one of the wheels. Take away the ABS system and the pedal would feel exactly the same.

clearly what is needed is a test.

maybe when you girls go to your next meet one brave soul can volunteer to drive his car and break from 70 in shoes. and then again in socks.

we will then finally be able to put this to bed. and the people who were wrong will have to hang their heads in shame.

Also in your brake test, put a thorn on brake pedal, or a stone in your sock, see how well you brake then  ;)

Never mind, as long as your comfy in your socks thats all that matters right?  :-X
