I am wanting to fit Wind Deflectors.
« on: 14 July 2011, 15:26:27 »

Hi,

I want to fit wind deflectors on my Omega Facelift and can only find the 2 door kits, Does anyone know where I can get the 4 door kits from if they are available.

I definitely want to fit deflectors but wont if I can't get them for all 4 doors.

Cheers

i'm assuming he means those things at the top of windows? so when they are open there is not has much wind buffeting?

Can't say i've ever seen those fitted on an Omega, not exactly common on cars with climate control.....

I like them, I have seen the 2 piece kits fitted and they look ok but I wont fit a 2 piece kit on a 4 door car. And it is a styling thing too as it is part of my design plan.

I have these on my van and wifes Freelander . They work ( up to a point ) but the ones I have fit into and are retained by the window channel that the top of the glass window sits into.
The Omega has flush fit windows( go and have a look ) and therefore the only ones you will be able to fit are the flimsy ones attached to the actual door above the window by double sided tape.
Not the best method at all and they will fall off.

I've had mine fitted for almost a year now, bought them from another OOF'er ;) They do the job very well & have never come loose touch wood! Climate Control is all well & good when it's absolutely necessary, but it does increase fuel consumption (i'm as tight as a ducks jacksy & almost as poor ;D) I've never come across a four door set though, I don't think they are available :(

Odd. They are ugly IMO. So why fit them for styling? Each to their own and all that, but they remind me of...well... The smell of wee, shall we say. :-/

Plus, if the rear window is open the same as the front window the buffeting goes almost completely for the driver.

Completely pointless and ugly articles IMO. But hay. It's not "my" rather car.  ;D (bit of a private joke that last bit, appologies)  ;)

So does having a deflector and window open! Fuel savings would be very minimal at best  :-/

Get rid of the smell of wee and can close the window. Sorted.  :y

Think I will give up on the idea. I have hunted high and low and contacted many companies and no one has a 4 door set. Shame really.

If they were fitted to the rear doors, wouldn't they foul the B Pillar when opening the rear doors?  :-/

We had them on the front doors on our Omega, and now on all four doors on the Superb.

The problem with the Omega ones is that the B pillar frame rises and close with the glass, leaving the deflector with no rear fixture. Normally end up loosening off and flexing......
