Hmm. Misfire cylinder 3.  :-\

Plug wells dry, a drop or two of moisture on the coil pack, which went into the oven for an hour to dry out just in case. Spark plug in no. 3 had worked slightly loose.

Wound it over with the coil pack out and all 3 plugs have a strong spark.

Put it all together with a liberal coat of damp start and put a bit of silicone sealant round the wiper spindle. Seems OK now. :-\

Drove it on a number of <2mile journeys and discovered (unsurprisingly) that a lard-arse car with a lard arse driver doesn't do well on short journeys, 33mpg.  ::)

Also ordered a GROM audio kit which should allow me to hook into my phones Bluetooth and add a USB socket to the existing head unit. The HU is a very nice Dolby Pro Logic number with 2 amps and 11 speakers which i am loathe to either rip out or try to make play nice with an aftermarket head unit.

Connected the new rear brake pipes, assembled again the handbrake, controlled all screws of the rear suspension.

Back on the road again tomorrow?

Pulled the radiator out of my other Omega and ordered a £50 replacement from a well known auction site... Don't want to spend much on it unless I know it's going to pass the MOT ::)

Pulled the bonnet open on Bambi car and discovered that the impact has split the battery open! :o

Today I evacuated the air from the brake pipes and filled in new brake fluid. Also I assembled the upper crews of the shock absorbers at the rear suspension. At last i re assembled the complete muffler after cat.

Back on the road again. The Caravan is now ready to use.

Hi The Boy

Yes, I am very satisfied. It took 10 days without a car, because I did not registrate my saloon this year. The Saloon should be an oldtimer someday. I want to save milage.

10 days are not so bad, because it was it was my first rear suspension remove and it was work after work.

Disassembling muffler, rear suspension, hand brake and brake pipes
Sandblasting rusted areas on chassis and upside rear suspension
New painting on sandblasted areas
Reassembling
