Flattened the battery trying to start it with a dead crank sensor ::)

Turns out crank sensor is fine ::) the ecu coolant temp sensor however is not ;D thinks it's -30 and dumps in enough fuel in to light a pond. Obviously the car then won't fire...

So on the train to nearest VX dealer who happens to have one in stock 8)

 Hopefully noone will see me using public transport :-X

Put back the top of the engine after replacing thermostat,but have been delayed by discovering a small split in radiator top hose so another ordered and hopefully in tomorrow for final completion Wednesday now.

Hose wasnt leaking but sods law would say soon as all back together leak appears so better safe than sorry.

Hopefully with a correct temperature controlled engine MPG will improve a bit and run more efficiently as well as better cabin heat which wasnt too bad before

Written it off again ::)

Following last October's run in with a gravel tipper spraying gravel everywhere >:( third party admitted full liability, so car got assessed and estimate included stripping interior to remove tge roof rails so roof could be painted...

Just been told it's a Cat C again... ;D

Get to keep it though, which is nice 8)

Got the TD Estate up on ramps and stands and swopped the gearbox selector switch for the one on the AR25 which I have spare. selector lights all work OK now, but its staying on stands for a while so haven't drive tested it. Oh, I also checked the fluid level, it only took about a tablespoonful.
Also stripped down an old drivers door lock to replace the micro-switch using Kevin's excellent how-to. This will replace my current lazy one, idle B*#@&*d. ::) :y

My 2.6 had new front pads, new fuel filter & brake fluid change ( all genuine GM parts ) Then round to the Polish car wash for a full valet.. Now tucked away gleaming in the garage till Monday ..
