So you don't think the extra heat of a non vented disc would transfer through the pad to the piston and its seal, cook and split the seal, leat water in, and seize the caliper...?

Although 217k isn't bad going. How many of those in your ownership though?
I got the car at 88k. So I've done 140k in it.  Other than pads and fluid, never really touched them.

No I don't, based on the fact MY REARS ARE NOT OVERHEATING. If I can't borrow your mallet, will you do the honours and thwack yourself. Thanks.

Discovered the Zafira Cambelt has another 20,000 on it, due at 100,000 not the 80 I thought.

Also realised the MV6's cambelt was due LAST Feb, not this Feb as thought.....OOPS!  In Feb will be 5 years old, and has just hit 41,000 on this kit.  Think I need to go shopping :(

Put petrol in it. :(

....thought i better had as the lights been on for a month, the gauge was resting on the bottom, and it took about 10 seconds of cranking to start.

£1.19 a litre wasn't quite so bad though.

Fitted new window washers as the Insignia fan jets just stopped working for no apparent reason... they now reside in the bin...

Also found out as to why I get an intermittent check light for the rear O/S lights.... broken earth wire, needed a microscope and to see the break though. Insulation had gone brittle and the wire got corroded then snapped... All sorted with a soldering iron, swearing and some insulation tape :) :y
