weakened HG
How the hell was that diagnosed?

Knowing that I cooked the head in traffic and engine smell was very 'bad'  ;D

At 191k and it being original along with it's recent cook, it was just around the corner. It would fail at the worst time to, just sods law.
It would possibly outlast a VAG 2.0 diesel HG...
As you've gone and burst the bubble... Remind me, how much are Tdi injectors?  ::)

In (begrudging) defence of VW, no common rail injector is cheap....   ....one reason I was telling poor tunnie weeks ago that diesel wasn't for him due to his short commute.

I would not deem 50 miles return 'short' - On Friday, went to work as normal, got on the M3 in the morning, set cruise to 50mph. I only disengaged it when I reached M25, only to set it at 75.... so not too worried about it  :)

Its 25m each way, and half of that in traffic. That's short, and a diesel killer.

Let a load of smoke out from behind the dash :(

(It might have been steam. It seemed odourless)

Fitted a new headlight unit to the nearside today. The offside was replaced about 4 years ago, and no matter how much I tried to polish up the nearside, it was never going to look as good. Opportunity for a replacement came about recently, and now they look almost matched.

New centre exhaust section on the 190. Walker shite, so about an inch short, which made fitting hard work.

That`s bloody quick for a disc and pad change, let alone fixing the Focus too  ;D
