Why on earth would you be looking at C1's or 107's for under a grand?

They are great little cars , a friend of mine bought a new Aygo a few years ago and to me to Bolton in it to pick up a Hyundai I'd bought of eBay I was really impressed with the performance of the little engine , he only traded it in last year for a new Honda Civic.

We have decided to use her Easter holiday to finally go and have a look around for a car for wifey. I've been putting it off long enough, and she likes to see cars in the flesh rather than looking at them online. I reckon £20,000 is about our limit and I think (know) we'll get £6K for her astra.
I'm not looking forward to it, she faffs around.......a lot.

Why on earth would you be looking at C1's or 107's for under a grand? 

The Zafira is going imminently (7 seat Disco renders it redundant) meaning we have 2x diesel cars in the house so I had been looking at something petrol and small and cheap to do the school run, park in the minuscule parking spaces up town and to leave in the station car park with all the lunatics on the odd occasion I have to take the train.

Given that tax and insurance combined on one of these is about £12 pcm I figured it would be self funding given the Disco's thirst around town.

Also, it'll mean there's space on the drive, can't be having that!
