Took pity on the Evoque and inflated the tyres. Found out the passenger side central locking has gone lazy.

Should have stayed inside.  ::) ;D
Its JLR, I'm guess about 4+ years old. The door locks are designed to fail.

I tried cheap chinky ones in mine, neither lasted the warranty period, so go back to being arse-raped £130 a pop by the dealer.  One of the 2 chinky ones only lasted 3 months...   ...and being from ebay, no comeback

So guess it depends how quickly you want shot of it :y

Refitted the injector sound deadening, and dreamt up new names for that scottish idiot designer.  Granted, he didn't design the engine (did anybody?) but he still signed off, thus ultimately responsible. Tosspot.

And now the chinky headlight washer I fitted only a few weeks ago isn't squirting.  FFS.

What the chances of it being a fault in pump or one way valve...

Its a 2015 one, so either its lasted well beyond its intended design life, or its about to get its second replacement  ;D

So guess it depends how quickly you want shot of it :y

The correct question is, how long can I withstand the nagging to do the job, then add that to how long it will last....

On balance I think the eBay one will do just fine  ;D

That should last for about a week before some shithead with a box of electronic tricks opens the doors and has it away. :)

Why does she want a vehicle that looks like an Elephant has sat on the roof ? ( a strikingly true observation made by my youngest grandson) 😂

No different to mine, which I'm sure is the same technology anyway. And I don't fret.  Any car is easily nickable.  Certain car types just get the BBC-esque media all creamed up ;)

Who knows what goes on in the mind of a woman.  But being a modern man, I don't dictate to her what she can and can't have. Much.

I'm in total agreement with you mine will not part with her Subaru Forester, it's 18 years old now we've owned it for six but have known it from new nothing will convince her to part with it, the new MX5 we bought a few months back was hardly used so that went back to the dealership I've given up now.

Had the stone chip on the Mondeos windscreen repaired today, but unfortunately it was too big and deep to get an invisible repair and as it's in the field of vision looks like I'll need a new windscreen before MOT time.  :-\

Moral of the story is, get your windscreen chips sorted pronto before the moisture seeps in. The windscreen fella said it would have been a better outcome if I hadn't left it a couple of months.  :-[
