Took the ML for a fresh MoT ready to sell it.

Failed on the parking brake efficiency with advisories for the cables, smoke and a CV boot.

Smoke was because it sat idling for over half an hour... No smoke when you boot it.
CV boot is a nonsense, basically it was missing the clamp to the hub when I bought it and whilst it is now resecured, it doesn't seat perfectly on the hub so there's a ring of grease around the lip. It's not an active leak as there's no trace on the wheel etc.
Handbrake cables are rough as and I suspect the only reason it failed on efficiency was because he didn't push the pedal far enough. I had already ordered new cables so that should be both items addressed in one hit.

Managed to snap the release cable for the towbar because the locking mechanism in the pivot it a bit tight from lack of use  Fortunately it locked in the towing position and snapped when I went to restow it.

Don't think the cable is a service item unless I can find an Oris dealer to ask

It's another RRS , I wasn't fussy on either model but was particular  regarding service history & mileage paid my indi to travel over & inspect this one " you won't find a better one" were his words the seller took mine in part payment which was handy so did the deal yesterday, going in next week for a thorough health check, but I'm not expecting any issues, it's very fast compared to the TDV8 which wasn't a slouch by any means.👍

The British built (Welsh, I think)5.0 SC V8 is one of the great engines. These were fitted to both of my XFR 5.0SC......the second one was remapped and put out about 600BHP

Good choice.

Ford Bridgend and later JLR Wolverhampton 

This unit in the Project 8 was 600bhp from the factory (also in a proto facelift F-type SV that I had overnight but, sadly did not make production).....change the SC pullies and they can go quite a bit higher.

A healthy 725BHP with a bigger SC. What's not to like.

Replaced a wiper arm on hers, and a screen humidity sensor.  Only to find on a scan that a glow plug has failed now, FFS

It's got another weird fault, but I'll fix the glow plug before tapping up that nice Mr DTM to understand that

Yesterday I bit the bullet and ordered a new LED light unit for my tailgate from an Ebay supplier at about 4.00pm. £109.75 plus £21.95 to Rachel Theives.      Still it was better than £243 from the local BMW stealers. 

Wasn't expecting it till Wednesday/Thursday or so, but it turned up earlier today at about 5.15pm, so I popped out and fitted it as it wasn't raining.

I've already seen....       Mine mist up from time to time as well.
