Well it really depends on what your criteria is for choosing. The biggest advantage of the facelift models is that they are newer vehicles, will probably have fewer miles on the clock and because they are newer less rust. However I don’t believe the sales blah that they have any significantly better corrosion protection, they are all beginning to rust in the same places as the older cars. They don’t suffer as much corrosion because they are younger.  Personally I think the late pre facelift cars look better as inevitably the tendency for all makeover cars is for the manufacturer to add a lot of extra plastic to change the appearance of the car without having to renew the expensive pressings required to change steel panels (just look at the MG Leyland Rover Phoenix 25/45 models). But to be fair to Vauxhall on the Omega they did change several of the steel panels (boot lid and bonnet). One advantage of the pre facelift cars is that they sold in larger numbers and hence there are far more second hand parts and workshop manuals etc about. I would simply go for the best and newest you can afford at the specification you want, which probably means the less visually appealing IMHO but newer facelift.

I voted facelift.....coz i prefer em......but at the end of the day, it doesnt really matter....they all go wrong often and go rusty

Pre-Facelift.  

1.  I prefer it's slightly more rounded front and back ends.
2.  Centre consol is easier on the eye.
3.  I've already got a a mini-facelift elite

I may be a bit biased though!!!

I voted for the Face-lift
Although i own a pre Face-lift i would love the Face lift, give it another couple of years and i`m coming over to get one then convert it to European Standards

I don't suppose it really matters anyway, so long as it's got a proper gearbox.

I voted facelift, cos I prefere the bodywork,front end looks sleeker. That said I like the prefaclift door cards more but not the dash,fickle aint I

Externally, I like the prefacelift front (facelift looks a bit the same as other Vauxhalls), and facelift rear....

...I'll have to buy a ringer then

LJ707 facelifted his prefacelift, you could always reverse the effect on a facelift one!

I voted pre-facelift.... mine is mini-facelift and think they look slightly more agressive than the facelift.... upto the person though, buty the one that you like the most, not the one everyone else has, you'll enjoy it more in the long run then

I voted facelift - bias of course.

But it dosen't matter as long as YOU decide when to change gear not the car.
